Glycerol binds specifically water molecules leaving other contaminants in the air. Glycerol also efficiently removes water from eventual microorganisms, which are thus inactivated.
Our water vapor absorber works like a static mixer that continuously exposes new glycerol solution to water vapor molecules on the absorption surface. It eliminates the slow diffusion of water into deeper layers in other similar competing systems. It prevents blockage of absorption surface as it occurs in solid-phase absorbers in competing systems.
Solar water regeneration proceeds in a unique sandwich structure allowing selective passage of water vapor through a submicroscopic membrane yielding water of unprecedented purity. No other water cleaning steps are needed. It is not so in other systems, where water produced must be passed by a series of cleaning steps and filters.
